Jesus’ Birth (2)

Today we will talk about Mary, the mother of Jesus. In our Bible Reading, we read that the angel, Gabriel, came to Mary. Gabriel told Mary that she would have a son. The angel also told her that God would be the father of her baby. At this time, Mary was probably very young. She was confused about what the angel told her. But Mary was willing to obey God.
Mary was a good example for us. First, Mary was a humble servant. In verse 38b, Mary said, “I am the servant girl of the Lord (God). Let this thing you have said happen to me!” We should trust and obey God like Mary did. Second, Mary was brave. She could have been scared of the criticism from other people. But Mary had the courage to follow God’s plan for her life. We should be courageous, too.
Third, Mary believed that God could do a miracle (an amazing work that could only be done by God’s power). The angel said in verse 37, “God can do anything!” Mary believed that God would do what He promised. We should believe God’s promises, too.
