Jesus’ Comfort

I was dusting my bookshelves, and I noticed a small statue. It was a statue of Jesus with some little children. One of the children in the statue is sitting on Jesus’ lap. Another child is standing next to Jesus. And Jesus has His arms around both children.
Our Bible Reading today tells us about a time when people brought their children to Jesus. Jesus’ disciples wanted the children to go away, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to people that are like these little children” (verse 16b).
I looked at the statue some more. I realized that all of us can be like these little children. Jesus welcomes us, just like He welcomed the children. He listens to us when we pray and speaks to us through the Bible.
Jesus comforted and blessed the children. He will comfort and bless us, too. Reach out to Him today.
