Jesus, our Master

I read a story about a dog named Shep. This story happened many years ago in the western United States.
Shep loved his master, but one day his master died. Shep followed the wagon that took his master’s coffin to the railroad station. The coffin was put on a train and taken far away to be buried. But Shep stayed at the railroad station for more than five years, waiting for his master to return.
If you are a Christian, your master is Jesus. He left the earth many years ago, but he promised that some day He will come back. In our Bible Reading today, the angel said to Jesus’ disciples, “You saw Jesus carried away from you into heaven. He will come back in the same way you saw him go” (verse 11b).
Shep’s master was dead — he was never coming back. But our Master, Jesus, is alive! He will return someday to take us to live with Him forever. Be sure that you are ready to meet Him!
