Jesus’ Prayers (1)

Our Bible verses today tell us about the time Jesus fed more than 5000 people. Verse 11a says, “Then Jesus held the loaves of bread. Jesus thanked God for the bread and gave it to the people that were waiting to eat. He did the same with the fish.”
I think we can learn a couple of things from Jesus’ prayer. First, Jesus gave thanks for the food. It is good for us to thank God for the food He gives us each day.
Second, I think that Jesus was also thanking God for what He was going to do — feeding more than 5000 with five barley loaves and two little fish. Often we thank God for things that have already happened in our lives. We should also thank God for the things He will do for us in the future.
Maybe you can try something new tomorrow. When you wake up in the morning, thank God for what He will do for you during the day. This will help you start your day with a thankful heart. You will also be excited to see how God will use you to serve Him.
