Jesus’ Prayers (5)

In today’s Bible verses, we read a very short prayer of Jesus. He knew that soon He would be arrested and killed. Verse 42 tells us that Jesus prayed, “Father, if it is what you want, then let me not have this cup of suffering. But do what you want, not what I want.”
God answered Jesus’ prayer according to His will. His plan was for Jesus to die on the cross. Because of Jesus’ death, people who follow and obey Jesus have the promise of eternal life with Him.
Probably none of us have faced a difficult situation like Jesus did before His death. Sometimes we pray, “God, please make me well,” or “Take this bad situation from me.” But often we are not willing to also say, “God, I want your will to happen in my life.”
When you pray, make sure that you humbly accept God’s will for your life.
