Luke, chapter 15, is a chapter full of joy. There are three stories in this chapter — the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost son.
In the first story, the shepherd found his lost sheep. “I tell you heaven is a happy place when one sinner changes his heart. There is more joy for that one sinner than for 99 good people that need to change their hearts” (verse 7). In the second story, a woman found her lost coin. “…she will call her friends and neighbors and say to them, ‘Be happy with me because I have found the coin I lost’” (verse 9).
In the third story, a son left his father and ran away. Later the son returned home. The father said to his other son, “We must be happy and have a party, because your brother was dead, but now he is alive” (verse 32).
All three of these people experienced joy. And we should be happy, too, when a person becomes a Christian. The angels in heaven rejoice, and we should, too!
