When there is a blackout in my area, I light candles. Why do I do that? So I can have light, and I won’t stumble around in the darkness.
In verse 21b of our Bible Reading today, Jesus said, “You don’t take a lamp and hide it under a bowl or a bed, do you? Of course not. You put it on a lampstand.” As Christians, we are like lights. We can show Jesus to other people through our actions and our communication. But if we do not share about Jesus with others, we are not letting our lights shine. Then the people we meet will continue to stumble around in the dark world of sin.
You will have opportunities today to share your light with people you meet. What will you do? Will you ignore them? Or will you let your light shine brightly and help them know about Jesus?
