Love and Grace

Today’s Bible Reading is great news! God loves you, and nothing can separate you from His love. You do not need to do anything to earn God’s love. And no matter what you do, God will continue to love you. You can reject God’s love, but that will not stop God from loving you.
BUT if you reject God’s grace, you cannot be saved. God’s grace is not the same as God’s love. You must accept the gift of God’s grace through Jesus before you can receive forgiveness. Of course, God will still offer you His grace. God will patiently wait for you to accept His free gift…but God will never force you to accept it.
In Luke 18:9-14, Jesus tells a story about a proud Jewish religious leader and a humble tax collector. The Pharisee thought the good things he did made him acceptable to God. He did not depend on God’s grace. But the tax collector was humble. He begged God to forgive him, and God forgave him. Certainly, God loved both men. But only the humble tax collector received God’s grace.
