Mark (3)

In our Bible Reading today, Jesus met a man who had many evil spirits. Jesus sent the evil spirits out of the man. Then the man went home and told people “about the great things Jesus did for him. Everyone was amazed” (verse 20b).
Maybe you think that evil spirits were only active when Jesus lived on earth. But the devil and his evil spirits are always very busy trying to get people to sin. 1 Peter 5:8 tells us, “Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy, and he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat.”
As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit to help us resist the devil. Paul encourages us in Ephesians, chapter 6, to wear God’s armor as protection against the devil. “Then on the day of evil, you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing” (Ephesians 6:13b).
Let God’s power help you resist the devil and his evil spirits. Depend on God and His Word today.
