Mark (4)

When I have a runny nose, I drink lots of water and take some vitamin C. Then I wait for the cold to go away. But if I have a high fever and terrible stomach pains, I go to the hospital emergency room and find a doctor fast.
In our Bible Reading today, Jesus was eating with Levi and some other tax collectors. Some Jewish teachers were there, too. They hated tax collectors. These teachers asked Jesus why He ate with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor. It is the sick people that need a doctor. I did not come to invite good people. I came to invite sinners” (verse 17b).
We are sinners, and we all need Jesus. But sometimes we only go to Jesus when we have big problems. Other times we try to take care of our problems by ourselves. But we should depend on Jesus in every area of our lives.
Don’t try to get through life on your own. Trust Jesus to help you!
