In my office at Deaf Missions, I have a photograph of three men who have worked at Deaf Missions. Each of these men has been a mentor to me during different times of my life. When I look at this photograph, I am reminded of what these men taught me and how they encouraged me in my Christian life.

Paul was a mentor to a young man named Timothy. The first few verses of 2 Timothy tell us that Timothy’s grandmother and mother taught him about God. Paul often called Timothy his “dear son.” Paul wanted Timothy to mature in his Christian faith and to teach other people about Jesus. Paul told Timothy in verse 19a of our Bible Reading, “Continue to trust in God an d do what you know is right.”

Do you have a Christian mentor in your life? Thank them for encouraging you to be a faithful Christian. Maybe you can be a mentor to a young person like Timothy.
