Monday is named for the moon. Our moon revolves around the earth. The word “moon” means companion or friend.
Our Bible Reading today talks about when Jesus was ready to die. He knew that soon He would be leaving the earth. He told His disciples that He would send them a helper or a companion. This helper was the Holy Spirit. Verses 16-17a say, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper. He will give you this Helper to be with you forever. This Helper is the Spirit of truth.”
The moon is a constant companion of the earth. In the same way, the Holy Spirit is always with Christians. We can depend on the Spirit to help us do the right things. He will also show us God’s truth in the Bible and remind us to obey God.
Maybe you will face some difficult situations today. You do not need to worry or be afraid. The Holy Spirit is with you and will help you make wise choices.
