The man who bought our acreage also owns all the farm land around the acreage. He plans to tear down our house and buildings, plow up the soil and plant corn and soy beans.
I remember many good things about living in that house. My husband and I planted many trees and bushes. We remodeled several rooms in the house. It is sad to think that all of that will be destroyed.
But our houses and our possessions are not really important. When we die, we can’t take anything with us. What is really important is our relationship with God and how we serve Him here on earth.
In our Bible Reading, Jesus says that the most important thing is “God’s kingdom and doing what he wants you to do” (verse 33b). So don’t worry about your possessions here on earth. Instead, focus on following and obeying God.
