Names for Jesus

How many names do you have? I have a first name, a middle name and a last name. My children call me “Mom,” and my husband calls me “Mutter” (that’s German for mother). And some people call me “friend” or “sister in Christ.”
The Bible tells us many names for Jesus. Our Bible Reading today lists several of these names. It is important that we know these names. Why? Because these names for Jesus help us understand who He is and what He has done for us.
Starting tomorrow, we will begin to look at twenty-seven Bible names for Jesus. These devotions were written by Dr. Harold Noe about 10 years ago. Dr. Noe was a member of the Deaf Missions staff for many years. He passed away in 2008.
The last devotion in this series will be on April 8th — the day when we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. I hope that these devotions will help you think about the great sacrifice that Jesus made when He died on the cross.
