New Life

My daughter was driving home from work at 3:30 in the morning. A policeman pulled her over to the side of the road. The policeman told my daughter that he stopped her because she was driving carefully and obeying all the laws! He had learned that people who are drunk often drive very slowly. The policeman was convinced that my daughter was not doing anything wrong, and she went on her way.
Many people in the world today know they are doing something wrong and wonder when they will be caught. Our Bible Reading today talks about people like this. In verses 19-21, Paul lists some things that these people do to disobey God.
But then Paul reminds us that those “who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their sinful self. They have given up their old sinful feelings and the evil things they wanted to do” (verse 24). If you are a Christian, you have a new life in Jesus. Continue to read God’s Word and follow the Holy Spirit.
