No Idols

There are many people in the world today who own cell phones. My wife is hearing. She has a cell phone so she can send and receive messages for me. That is very helpful.
But I have noticed that some people worship their cell phones. Everywhere they go, they carry their cell phones with them. These people are so busy talking on their phones that they forget to read their Bible and pray. Even in a worship service, we are often bothered by cell phones ringing.
In our Bible Reading today, a Jewish teacher asked Jesus which of God’s commands was most important. Jesus answered (verse 30), “You must love the Lord your God. You must love him with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.”
If you love something in the world more than you love God, that thing becomes your idol. Idols can be money, pleasures, popularity, clothes, music, sports or cell phones.
Decide today to love God and to make Him most important in your life.
