Our Sins

In the Old Testament, God gave His people, the Israelites, special laws. One of these laws said that a perfect animal had to be sacrificed so that the people’s sins could be forgiven.
Jesus was the only perfect person to ever live on earth. He never sinned! That’s why Jesus’ death could pay the price for our sins. He willingly gave His life for you and me.
Jesus suffered many terrible things for us — beatings, mocking, and finally being nailed to a cross. But probably the worst thing was being separated from God. That had to happen so that our sins could be forgiven.
What does Jesus’ death mean to us? Verse 9 of our Bible Reading gives us an answer. “We have been made right with God by Christ’s blood (death). So through Christ we will surely be saved from God’s anger.”
Take time today to think about what Jesus did for you. And accept His wonderful gift of salvation.
