Patience (2)

Sometimes it is very hard for us to be patient — especially with our children or our grandchildren. They cry, they spill their food, they throw a tantrum or they fight with their siblings.
Psalm 127:3 reminds us that children are a blessing. “Children are a gift from the Lord, a reward from a mother’s womb.” And verse 4 of our Bible Reading today gives us advice about our children. “Father, don’t make your children angry, but raise them with the kind of teaching and training you learn from the Lord.”
When my son was little, I saw him scolding his teddy bear. He sounded just like I did when I had scolded him earlier in the day. This made me realize that I needed to be more patient with him. I asked God to forgive me for my impatience and to help me be more humble and patient.
Ask God to teach you and help you be patient with your children or grandchildren. They are truly a blessing from God!
