Pleasing God

In our Bible Reading, Paul was writing to Christians in the city of Thessalonica. In the past, these people had been influenced by the Greek religion and philosophy. Paul wanted to be sure that these people continued to follow God.
In our verses, Paul encouraged these Christians to live a life that pleased God. Paul told them to use their bodies in ways that honored God, to not cheat people, to live in peace and to earn their own living. If they did these things, Paul said that “those who are not believers will respect the way you live” (verse 12b).
Sometimes when I am doing something good, other people will criticize me or say bad things about me. But I need to remember to do good and live so other people will see God at work in my life.
God wants you to be holy today. Please God in everything you do.
