Some people in the world have a lot of money and possessions. Other people are poor. But God has given all of us things that we need — food, clothes and a place to live. And most of us probably have many extra things that we don’t really need.
We should have an attitude of thankfulness about the possessions that God has given us. When we are truly thankful, we will be satisfied with what we have. Paul was always satisfied with what he had. Sometimes he had a nice place to live and good food to eat. Other times he was in prison or shipwrecked on an island.
Paul told the Christians in Philippi about his thankfulness in Philippians 4:11. “I am telling you this, but not because I need something. I have learned to be satisfied with what I have and with whatever happens.” Paul goes on to say that sometimes he had been hungry and others times he had plenty to eat. Then he says that Christ gave him the strength to be satisfied in every situation he faced.
Think about your food, your clothes and the place where you live. Don’t complain about them. Thank God for what you have and ask Him to help you be satisfied with His many blessings.
