Praise for the Child

When a couple learns that they will have a baby, they begin to prepare for the baby to be born. They get the baby’s bed and room ready. The parents look at lists of baby names to decide which name will be right for their child. People give them diapers and baby clothing. Everyone prays that the child will be born safely.
God’s angel came to Mary and told her that she would give birth to God’s Son. Our Bible verses today tell us that Mary went to visit her cousin, Elizabeth, for three months. Elizabeth was pregnant, too. I can imagine that Mary and Elizabeth talked a lot about preparations for their babies. Our verses also tell us that Mary praised God that He had chosen her to be the mother of the Messiah.
During this Christmas season, we should stop and praise God for sending His Son to earth. And we should thank Him for all the blessings He has brought into our lives throughout the year.
