In our Bible Reading today, Paul talked about a problem he had. He said that God did not want him to become proud. So God allowed Paul to have this problem.
We do not know for sure what Paul?s problem was. The original Greek words in verse 7 mean ?thorn in the flesh.? So Paul?s problem must have kept bothering him, just like a thorn sticking in his skin. The devil wanted this problem to bother Paul so much that he would give up teaching about Jesus.
But Paul did not give up. He asked God to take away his problem. But God told Paul that all he needed was His grace. Verse 9 says, ?But the Lord said to me, ?My grace (kindness) is enough for you. When you are weak, then my power is made perfect in you.??
Every person in the world faces problems. But Christians have God?s grace. Because we have God?s grace, we can stand strong. And, we can be happy like Paul. Why? Because we are truly serving God.
