Rest

It takes me 45 minutes to drive to work each morning. Then I work 8 hours and drive home. I am gone from home for 10 hours each day. When I come home, it is time for me to feed our two dogs. Then I start preparing supper for my family. After supper is ready, I am tired. All I want to do is sit down and rest!
Physical rest is important. But Christians also need another kind of rest. We need rest from the frustrations and worries in our lives. Some people try to find rest in alcohol or drugs. But true rest can only come from Jesus.
In verse 29 of our Bible Reading, Jesus says that we should come to Him to find rest. Then in verse 29 He says, “Accept my work and learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will find rest for your souls.” This means that we should try to be like Him. We can be like Jesus by being gentle and humble. Then we will have peace and rest from the troubles in life.
Maybe you are spiritually tired today. Learn from Jesus’ example of gentleness and humility. Then you will find rest!
