Samaritan Woman

In our Bible Reading today, we learn that Jesus was traveling through Samaria. The Jews and Samaritans hated each other. But Jesus was different — He loved all people.
Jesus talked with the woman. First they talked about water. The woman was talking about real water, but Jesus was talking about living (spiritual) water. Then Jesus and the woman talked about the Messiah, the One that God had chosen to be the Savior of the world. In verse 26, Jesus said, “That person is talking to you right now. I am the Messiah.” That is the first time in the New Testament that Jesus said He was the Messiah.
I think it is very interesting that Jesus shared this news with someone who was not a Jew. And, she was also a woman. Society at that time said that women were not important.
What do these verses mean to me? These verses remind me that Jesus loves everyone and that He reaches out to all people, no matter how good or bad they are. Jesus loves you and wants you to follow and serve Him today.
