Saved by Grace

No person can do anything to save himself from sin. Imagine you have a piece of paper and a permanent marker. Now imagine that you write a bad word on the paper. Because the marker is permanent, you can’t erase the word. You can cover it up by marking over it, but the word is still on the paper. You can draw beautiful pictures on the paper, but that bad word will still be there. Those good things you write will not make the bad word disappear.
Trying to hide our sins does not erase them. And doing good things cannot erase our sins either. We need someone who can help us! The only One who can forgive our sins is God. In verse 8 of our Bible Reading, Paul talks about that. “I mean that you have been saved by grace because you believed. You did not save yourself; it was a gift from God.”
Jesus paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross. That is His free gift of grace to us!
