Simple Prayers (1)

When we pray to God, our prayers do not have to be long and fancy. We can just pray simple prayers. Today we will begin to look at some simple prayers in the Bible.
Stephen was chosen to help serve in the early church in Jerusalem. Acts 6:5 tells us that he was “a man with great faith and full of the Holy Spirit.” Also, God gave Stephen “power to do great wonders and miraculous signs among the people” (Acts 6:8).
Stephen preached about Jesus. Our Bible Reading tells us that some people said that Stephen was speaking against God. They became angry and “began throwing stones at him” (verse 58b). How did Stephen respond? He prayed this prayer (verse 60b), “Lord, don’t blame them for this sin!”
Stephen forgave the people who were killing him. Maybe there is someone in your life that you need to forgive. Ask God to help you forgive that person. Pray Stephen’s simple prayer. God will pay attention to you.
