Start Moving

The people of Israel felt trapped. They had been slaves in Egypt. But the Egyptian king had finally given them their freedom. Now the king’s army was chasing them. Ahead of them was the Red Sea.
The Israelites said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt? Why did you bring us out here in the desert to die? We could have died peacefully in Egypt” (verse 11a). These people felt they had two choices. They could go back to slavery in Egypt or walk into the Red Sea and drown.
But God had other plans for the Israelites. God said to Moses (verse 15b), “Why are you still crying to me! Tell the people of Israel to start moving.” God opened the Red Sea so the Israelites could walk across on dry land. And the Egyptian army drowned in the sea.
When we face problems, often we think that we must solve them alone. But we need to let God take control of our problems. Then we can depend on His strength and start moving!
