Stepping in the Light

Eliza Hewitt was only thirty-six years old when she injured her spine. She had to lie in bed with a heavy cast on her back. After six months, Eliza was allowed to walk outside for the first time. It was springtime, and the sun was shining brightly.
During her time in bed, Eliza had studied Ephesians 5:8, “In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light.” After her walk outside, Eliza wrote a song of praise based on that verse. Some of the words of this song are: “How beautiful to walk in the steps of the Savior, stepping in the light, stepping in the light.”
Eliza walked in the warmth of the sunshine. As Christians, we need to walk in the light of Jesus. We need to show other people that we follow Jesus and that we want to be lights in the dark world of sin.
Shine your light for Jesus today.
