Stop and Look

“Stop and look” is a lesson we teach children. This helps them when crossing a street. If children will stop and look both ways for oncoming vehicles, they will stay safe on busy streets.

“Stop and look” is important in our spiritual life, too. Verse 3 of our Bible Reading says, “So the church fasted and prayed. They laid hands on Barnabas and Saul and sent them out.” Before the church in Antioch sent Paul and Barnabas on a mission trip, they stopped and prayed about it. They also fasted and looked to God for guidance. Then they were ready to send Paul and Barnabas out to share the Gospel.

Do you need to make important decisions? Do you have an opportunity to do something for God? Follow the example of the Christians in Antioch. Stop and pray, and look to God. Then step out in faith and do what God wants you to do.
