Summertime (3)

Iowa summers are usually very hot. When I was growing up, most people didn’t have air conditioners. We just accepted the heat as part of summer weather.
We knew that hot weather would come in the summer. We also knew that in September the leaves would change colors and cooler temperatures would arrive. I am an adult now, and I still live in Iowa. The seasons come and go, just like when I was a child. God’s plan for the earth still goes on every day.
Our Bible Reading tells us about Noah. God saved Noah and his family from the flood. When they came out of the boat, Noah built an altar and made a sacrifice to God. Then God made a promise to Noah. Verse 22 says, “As long as the earth continues, there will always be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and hot, summer and winter, day and night on earth.”
God keeps His promises. We can always depend on Him and His word. Praise God for His faithfulness!
