King David, the apostle Peter and Jesus must have had strong bodies. David defended his flocks of sheep. Peter worked with large fishing nets. And Jesus was a carpenter. All of these jobs required strong bodies.
David, Peter and Jesus were also known for their strong character and faith. But they were not embarrassed by their emotions. The Bible tells us that each of them cried. 1 Samuel 30:4 tells us that David and his men “cried loudly.” Matthew 26:75 says that Peter “cried bitterly.” And we learn from John 11:35 that Jesus cried, too.
In our Bible Reading today, the writer says that God knew he was upset. “Surely you have kept an account of all my tears” (verse 8b). God has promised to always be with us. When we are happy, He is happy. When we are sad, He gives us comfort.
Tell God how you feel today. Tell Him about the good things in your life and tell him about the sad things, too. He will comfort and take care of you.
