In today’s Bible Reading, Eve was tempted to eat some fruit. Eve knew that God didn’t want her to eat that fruit. Eve had two choices: eat the fruit or not eat the fruit. Eve could choose to obey God or not obey God. Eve ate the fruit. She chose to do wrong.
Every day we must make choices. We all face temptations, so we must choose between doing right and doing wrong. If we choose to do wrong, we allow our bodies to control us. But if we do the right thing, we control our bodies.
With Jesus’ help, we will choose to do what is right when we are tempted. In Romans 6:6-7 we read, “We know that our old life died with Christ on the cross. This happened so that our sinful selves would have no power over us. And then we would not be slaves to sin. Any person that has died is made free from sin’s control (power).”
If Jesus is your Savior, He will help you say “No!” to doing what is wrong and say “Yes!” to doing what is right.
