Recently my Sunday School class talked about temptations. In our Bible Reading, we learn that God does not tempt us to sin. It is the devil who tries to get us to disobey God. But every person has the choice to obey God or to disobey God.
When I was young, there was a TV show with a comedian. He always said, “The devil made me do it!” That is not true. No one can force us to sin. The devil tempts us, and then we choose to disobey God. We must accept the responsibility for our own sins.
Verse 17 tells us that only good things come from God. This verse also says that God never changes. He gives us good things, and He will continue to give us good things. We can always depend on God to help us.
The last verse of our Bible Reading says that God “wanted us to be the most important of all the things he made.” God loves us so much. He does not want us to sin. He wants us to obey and follow Him.
