Teachers at a Vacation Bible School asked the children to name things they were thankful for. They mentioned things like their families, their teachers, their pets and even ice cream!
Whenever I go to my doctor, I think about those children who listed things they were thankful for. My doctor’s office always asks me to answer many questions about my health. The questions ask if I have problems or pains in different parts of my body. I am supposed to answer the questions with “yes” or “no.” Every time I answer a question with “no,” I thank God that I don’t have that health problem. When I answer a question with “yes,” I thank God that I have a doctor who can help me with the medical problems I face.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 teaches us about being thankful. “Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus.” We should thank God when good things happen to us. And, when bad things happen to us, we should thank God for being with us and helping us.
Be thankful today! You don’t have to set your alarm or write a note to help you remember to be thankful. Just be thankful all the time!
