Jesus’ friend, Lazarus, was sick. By the time Jesus came to Lazarus’ town, Lazarus had died. Jesus was very sad. Jesus told Lazarus’ sister, Martha, “Your brother will rise and be alive again” (verse 23b). Jesus went to the place where Lazarus was buried. He told the people to move the stone away from the tomb.
“Then Jesus looked up and said, ‘Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I know that you always hear me’” (verse 41b). After that, Jesus told Lazarus to come out of the tomb. Lazarus became alive, and he came out! This was another wonderful miracle Jesus did.
God listens to us when we pray. Sometimes we don’t know the right words or signs to communicate to God. But He understands us and pays attention to our problems and our requests. In verse 41, Jesus thanked God for hearing Him. We, too, should thank God for paying attention to us when we pray.
God always knows what is best for you. Pray and thank Him for loving you and helping you serve Him.
