The Best

When I was a child, I loved going to the Memorial Day parade in my hometown. My brother and I would sit on the edge of the sidewalk and watch the parade.
Military bands, school bands and scout troops marched in the parade. There were also beautifully decorated floats, fire trucks and police cars. The parade usually lasted for three hours. But the most exciting part was the spectacular float at the end of the parade. The people who planned the parade always saved the best for last.
Our Bible Reading today tells us about the day Jesus died on the cross. People lined the streets and watched Jesus carry his cross. Then they nailed Jesus to the cross, and He died. But like my hometown parade, God saved the best part for last. Three days later, Jesus arose from the dead. This was the most spectacular part of God’s plan.
Jesus died and arose so that you can have your sins forgiven. Praise and thank God today for His plan of salvation through His Son, Jesus!
