The Last Adam

In verse 45 of our Bible verses for today, Paul called Jesus the last Adam. We all know that Adam was the first human. God made Adam in His own image (Genesis 1:27).
But what does it mean that Jesus is the last Adam? The first Adam sinned against God. 1 Corinthians 15:21a says, “Death happens to people because of what one man (Adam) did.” Adam brought death into the world. Since that time, all people have been under the penalty of sin.
But Jesus, the last Adam, broke this penalty. Jesus never sinned. He came from heaven, not from the earth. When Jesus died on the cross, He brought eternal life and forgiveness of sins to every person who follows and obeys Him.
All people have the sinful and physical nature of the first Adam. But through Jesus we can have the holy and spiritual nature of the last Adam.
