The Tree

This is our final devotion about trees. The last tree we will discuss was not really a tree. It was something made from a tree. This was the cross where Jesus was crucified. Often people call Jesus’ cross a tree.
Every week Christians meet together to remember Jesus’ death on the cross. They eat the Lord’s Supper together to remember what Jesus did for them. Jesus died on the cross for your sins and my sins. He died for all the sins from the past, the present and the future. Only Jesus could do that because He is the only perfect sacrifice.
When Jesus died on the cross, He suffered great pain. Why? Because He loved us so much. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, Christians have the promise of eternal life in heaven.
The tree (cross) where Jesus died is a symbol of God’s great love. Each time we see a cross we can remember that our sins are forgiven through Jesus. We can look forward to living in heaven with God. Thank God for His love today.
