I watched the winter snowflakes fall to the ground. They looked like sparkling diamonds. The snow covered the ground. Suddenly I saw a deer who had come to take a drink from the stream. The deer bent down and satisfied its thirst with the cold water.
Verse 1 of our Bible Reading says, “God, you are my God. And I want you so much. My soul and my body thirst for you, like a dry, weary land with no water.” Just as the deer was thirsty for water, we should be thirsty for God. When I am frustrated or sad or hurting, only God can satisfy me. He gives me rest and comfort.
Verses 3 and 4 talk about praise. “Your love is better than life. My lips praise you. Yes, I will praise you in my life. In your name, I lift my arms in prayer.” After God gives me rest and comfort, I need to thank Him and praise Him.
Are you thirsty for God today? Pray to Him, and He will satisfy you.
