Titus was a man who became a Christian. Titus helped Paul as he spread the Good News about Jesus. In Titus 1:4b, Paul told Titus, “You are like a true son to me in the faith we share together.”
In our Bible Reading today, Paul mentioned Titus. He said that Titus traveled with him and Barnabas when they went to Jerusalem. And Paul also talked about Titus in 2 Corinthians and 2 Timothy.
Paul also wrote a letter to Titus. That letter is the New Testament book of Titus. In that letter, Paul gave Titus instructions on how to help the church to grow. Some of these instructions were: teach the older men to have self-control, to be serious, and to be wise (Titus 2:2); be an example in every way for the young men (Titus 2:7); and be sure that your teaching is clearly right so that you cannot be criticized (Titus 2:8).
Titus was an important helper in the early church. God can use us today to be helpers in His church around the world.
