When troubles happen, some people blame God. They say it is not fair that they have to suffer. But God never promised that we would have an easy life. In fact, James 1:2a tells us, “My brothers and sisters, you will have many kinds of trouble.”
When troubles happen, we should not blame God. Some troubles happen just because we live in a world of sin. Other troubles happen because we choose to disobey God and His Word. Verse 39 of our Bible Reading reminds us, “No person alive can complain when the Lord punishes him for his sins.”
Some people say that if God really loved us, He would take away our troubles. But God does not need to prove His love in that way. He has already proved His love by sending Jesus to die and accept the punishment for our sins.
If you are facing troubles today, don’t tell God that you deserve better. Instead, turn to Him in prayer and ask Him to help you be closer to Him.
