True Faith

The second and third chapters of Revelation include seven messages from Jesus to His followers. Each message is for a specific group of followers. These groups lived in seven different cities. But Christians everywhere can learn from these messages.
Today’s Bible Reading is the message for the followers in Sardis. Jesus said that other people thought His followers in Sardis were living right. But Jesus knew how these people truly were, in their hearts. He knew that they were not giving themselves completely to God.
The people in Sardis allowed their faith to disappear. They lived good lives, but they did not love God completely. To live a good life but not have true faith in God is not enough.
Jesus told His followers to work hard so that their faith would not disappear (verses 2-3). We should always trust God, pray constantly, study the Bible and serve God. Then we can be sure that our faith grows and stays strong.
