Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem. He came to a small town. There Jesus met ten men who had a terrible skin disease called leprosy. When the men saw Jesus, they shouted and asked Jesus to heal them.
Jesus told the ten men to go to the Jewish priests. While the men were going to the priests, they were healed. Luke 17:15-16 tells us about one of the ten men. “When one of them saw that he was healed, he went back to Jesus. He praised God loudly. He bowed down at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. (He was a Samaritan.)”
This Bible story teaches us two very important lessons. The first lesson is about faith. The men started going to the priests even before they were healed. They had faith that Jesus could heal them. When we pray, we should have faith that God will answer our prayers and do what is best for us.
The second lesson is about thankfulness. Ten men were healed, but only one man came back and thanked Jesus. We should always remember to thank God for blessing us, taking care of us and answering our prayers.
When you pray today, have faith that God will provide for you. And be sure to thank Him for all He has done for you.
