Waiting

Have you ever thought about how much time we spend waiting? We wait in line to buy a cup of coffee. We wait to pay for things at the store. We wait for a friend who is late. Sometimes I think about all the things I could be doing instead of waiting.
Do you like to wait? Probably not. Does anyone like to wait? I don’t think so. We may think like this: “I want it all, and I want it now!” We pray and ask God for help, but we don’t want to wait for His answer.
Often I ask for God to help me. Then I become angry if He doesn’t answer my prayer right away. It is also easy to become jealous of non-Christians who seem to have everything they want in life.
Our Bible Reading today reminds us not to worry about other people. We should trust “in the Lord and wait quietly for his help” (verse 7a). Sometimes it is hard to wait for an answer, but we need to remember that God knows what is best for us.
Trust God in everything today.
