Walking (2)

Missing AttachmentOur Bible Reading today lists some of Noah’s ancestors (father, grandfather, great-grandfather). Not much information is given about each man except his name and how many years he lived. But there are several verses about Enoch. Enoch was Noah’s great-grandfather. Genesis 5:24 says, “One day Enoch was walking with God, and Enoch disappeared. God took him.”
This verse tells us that Enoch walked with God. Maybe Enoch really walked with God like Adam and Eve did in the garden. We do not know for sure. Some Bible versions translate these words: “Enoch pleased God.” Enoch must have been a very good man. And, he must have had a close relationship with God. Enoch did not have to face death. God just took him from the earth.
If we obey God, He will be pleased with us. But before we can obey God, we need to know what He wants us to do. We can learn this by reading the Bible. Take time today to look for ways that you can please God. Praise Him, pray to Him and share His love with people you meet.
