Walking (6)

Missing AttachmentOur Bible Reading today is a psalm (song) written by King David. David wrote many psalms about his experiences in life. Verse 4 says, “Even if I walk through a valley as dark as the grave, I will not be afraid of any danger. Why? Because you are with me, Lord.” David may have been telling us about a time when he actually walked through a dark valley. But I think David was talking about any time he faced problems. Maybe David was remembering how he felt when he killed a lion. Or when he faced the giant, Goliath. Or when the Philistine army was chasing him. David knew that he did not need to feel afraid. Why? Because he knew that God was with him.
Probably you will never need to kill a lion or fight a giant man. But you will have to face problems in life – sickness, financial problems, family problems, death. When these problems happen, you need to depend on God like David did.
Are you facing problems today? Ask God to help you as you “walk through a valley as dark as the grave.”
