Walking on Water

When I was young I went to a church pool party. I knew I shouldn’t go in the deep end of the pool, but I went there anyway. I held onto the edge of the pool in the deep water.
But then my hand slipped and I went down into the water. I remember thinking, “Help me! I am going to drown!” All of a sudden, a hand grabbed me and pulled me to the surface. It was my girlfriend who was a good swimmer. She saved my life!
Not long after that, I went to Sunday School and learned the story about Peter and Jesus walking on water. I thought about the day I almost drowned and how my friend saved me. I understood how Peter must have felt.
Peter had enough faith to get out of the boat and walk to Jesus. But as Peter was walking to Jesus, his faith failed. So Jesus reached out and saved him. Jesus wants us to step out in faith and serve Him today. He will always be with us to help and encourage us.
