What God Does (2)

Recently I watched a TV program about penguins. This program showed how the penguins stood over their eggs to protect them from weather and other animals. When the penguin chicks hatched, the parents still protected them. When something threatened the chicks, the parents gathered them under their feathers to keep them safe.
In the same way, God wants to keep us safe from the devil and sin. That’s why Paul tells us in Ephesians, chapter 6, that God gives us His armor to protect us. The parts of God’s armor are: the belt of truth, the chest protection of right living, the footwear of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit (God’s teachings).
Our fight here on earth is against the devil. “That is why you need God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil, you will be able to stand strong” (verse 13a). God gives Christians this armor to protect them. Don’t be afraid of the devil. God will protect you when you wear His armor
