Who is Jesus? (2)

Peter was an ordinary man. Jesus called Peter to be one of His disciples. Jesus didn’t choose kings or government leaders to be His disciples. Jesus called ordinary men to follow Him in extraordinary ways.
Peter spent a lot of time with Jesus. Peter was one of the closest disciples to Jesus. Jesus taught Peter many things, and Peter learned a lot from Jesus.
In verse 15 of our Bible Reading today, Jesus asked His disciples, “…who do you say I am?” Peter answered Jesus (verse 16), “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” “Christ” means “anointed one.” Peter knew that Jesus was anointed, or chosen by God. The word “Son” means that Jesus came from God and is God. “Living” means eternal. So Peter said that Jesus is eternal and He is God!
Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed and chosen One? And, do you believe that Jesus is the living and eternal God? If not, I encourage you today to believe in Jesus. And like Peter did, follow and obey Him, too!
