When the wise men came to Jerusalem, they asked people, “Where is the child who has been born to be the king of the Jews? We saw the star that shows he was born. We saw it rise in the sky in the east and have come to worship him” (verse 2).
The wise men were very clear about the purpose of their visit to Jerusalem. They had come to worship Jesus! That makes me wonder — what does it mean to truly worship God?
True worship is more than just actions. It means that we have a deep love for God. “God is love. Every one who lives in love lives in God, and God lives in them” (1 John 4:16). And true worship is an expression of our love and respect for God. “Praise the Lord and honor his name! Worship the Lord in all his holy beauty” (Psalm 29:2).
Will you be like the wise men and truly worship God today and every day?
